Lenny Keesee is excited to return to Wake Forest Independent for 2013/14 in the role of President of the Board.
Lenny is no stranger to the marching percussion activity throughout our area. For twelve years, Lenny served as Percussion Director at Ledford High School in Thomasville, NC. Under Keesee’s direction the percussion sections at Ledford garnered numerous awards at marching band and indoor contests across North Carolina and Virginia. In 2004 he founded the Ledford Indoor Percussion Ensemble (AIA / WGI) and in 2011 he helped co-found Rhapsody Youth Advocacy in the Arts. Lenny is currently serving his second year as Percussion Coordinator for the Atlantic Indoor Association. Founded in 1994, AIA is one of the largest indoor pageantry circuits in the United States. In 2012, Lenny joined Wake Forest Independent in the role of Operations Director.
As a performer, Keesee was a charter member of the Virginia Helmsmen (WGI) from Danville, VA marching with the ensemble from 1998 – 2002. He assisted the Helmsmen as a staff member during the 2003 – 2006 seasons. ‘VH’ was a six time WGI World Championships Finalist in addition to being WGI Percussion Independent Open Class silver medalists in 1998.
Lenny’s biggest personal influences in the marching percussion activity have been Tim Bray, Allen Joanis and Josh Nelson. He has been a Dynasty USA team member since 2002 and he is also a member of the Vic-Firth Education Team. Keesee holds a Bachelors of Applied Science degree from Averett University. Lenny is employed as a Network Engineer with Time Warner Cable Media in Charlotte, NC. He resides with his wife Lacey and daughter Layla Cadence in Salisbury, NC.

Holly Johnson currently resides in Thomasville, NC and works at High Point Regional Hospital in High Point, NC. She’s married to Andre Johnson and has two children, both percussionist! Until stepping down recently, Holly worked with her church’s teen youth group for the past 8 years. Holly has been involved with WFI since their start in 2009, as their Volunteer Director. She has also served the past 2 years, on the Board of Directors as Secretary and Vice President with the Ledford Band Booster’s, Inc.
Christopher Stehle Treasurer of the Board — email@example.com
Christopher Stehle is a graduate of Appalachian State University, holding a Master of Science in Accounting (2008), Master of Science in Criminal Justice and Criminology (2008), and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Accounting and Economics (2006). He is a veteran of the Appalachian State Marching Mountaineers and was a member of the ASU Men’s Glee Club. Chris is a Life Member Kappa Kappa Psi, National Honorary Band Fraternity and currently resides in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Ellen Dorsett currently teaches science at Ledford Middle School in Thomasville, NC and was previously at Wiley Middle School in Winston Salem, NC. She has a BA in Education from UNC-CH and an MA in Education from ASU. *To avoid age issues Ellen won’t go into how long she’s been teaching, but it is definitely longer than any current student has been living….! (As young as she looks, it’s hard for us to believe that…) Ellen has been working with the Ledford Panther Regiment since 2002 doing pit crew, uniforms, logistics and administrative duties, band booster officer etc. She has also worked with the Ledford Indoor Percussion Ensemble (LIPE) since 2005 fixing uniforms and administrative/logistic stuff.
Anthony Tang Member at Large — email@example.com
Anthony Tang is a 2011 Graduate of Wake Forest University. During his four years at Wake Forest, he served as Battery Section Leader in 2008 and as Drum Major in 2009 and 2010 for the Spirit of the Old Gold and Black (SOTOGAB). Additionally, Anthony served as the first Chapter President of the newly recolonized Kappa Zeta Chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi. He currently works in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at Wake Forest University. Anthony is originally from Rocky Mount, NC and currently resides in Winston-Salem, NC.
